Your Questions on COVID-19 and Animals Answered

Can I catch COVID-19 from my beloved pet or other animals?

WHO reports that several dogs and cats in contact with humans have tested positive for COVID-19. There is however no evidence that these animals can transmit the disease to humans. With the limited information available to date, the risk of pets spreading the virus that causes COVID-19 in people is considered to be low.

But then what about the story that a human being somewhere ate a bat, contracted the disease then spread the disease to the rest of the world? Well, the exact source is not known but what is known is that it originally came from an animal, likely a bat.
